This is a work I am truly proud of the first time in YCIS. This is my first science test, shortly after school started. I got a 97% A* and I found out I could really develop in the school. Like everybody else, I love being praised and credited, but I also work hard and stay humble as much as I can. My goal is to really keep up on the good work. The first semester, I was really great on science already, but this term I wish to be even better or at least keep up on the good grades.

This is also a piece of work I am proud of, I am naturally fluent in speaking and reading Chinese, but not good on writing. My skills of writing are 1 or 2 years below my year level because I stopped learning Chinese for about a year when I was in Germany, so I got worse. I worked really hard and revised over and over so i can get this A. My goal for this semester is to try even harder so most of my work is at least a B to keep up on academic grades. I will work no matter what to get A's on this subject.

Here is my math test. I was average on my maths last semester, getting a B on overall grades on math. I worked really hard this year and cracked on algebra. Algebra has always been a stone in my path since year 5 when I started. I cannot get hold of the x, y, and z's. But through my long "training" of this year, I got hold of the techniques and found maths much easier when you get hold of algebra. I worked really hard on this test, including revising with my father, preparing days before it. My goal of this semester is to keep up the good work, since I have got no B's or C's in math tests since the start of the year, straight A's. I will keep up the good work.

This is my short story, "One Day". It is per request by Mr. Knuppel, my English teacher. This is a 2000 word story, about an average young boy James meeting an unusual time machine driven by a alien. He then gets to see all the planets and got to stay with the alien, named "Smith". I took a lot of time with it, and was very passionate with the idea to write my own story. I wrote the whole first draft in one sitting. I then edited it tens of times to just refine the story over and over again, to add fine details to the story. My goal of this year in English is to improve my attention to all regions, such as my grammatic errors and my slight lack of vocabulary needed to be fixed. I will try my best to mend it up.
